The CBN has ordered banks to pay the new naira notes in the bank

BREAKING:

Central Bank of Nigeria has directed banks to pay the new Naira notes over the counter as against the earlier directive of paying only through the ATM.

This order comes after the business activities almost came to a standstill after the Nigerian government issued new currency notes of 200, 500 and 1,000 naira.

In a statement signed by the bank’s communications director, Osita Nwanisobi, the CBN has noted some of the bad habits shown by the citizens of selling and throwing the new currency notes in the air and trampling them during some festivals.

Nwanisobi said that the Central Bank has collaborated with the Nigerian Police Force, the National Tax Collection Agency and the EFCC to punish those who are caught violating the laws of the country, especially those who have defrauded the economy of the country.
